Stage West (Black) - 2021.png

BarrelHouse Talent is partnering with Stage West Playhouse to bring Blues Performances to the Nature Coast area of Florida.  The 390 seat (including handicap seating) theater does not have a bad seat and allows for an intimate performance.

TERRIE ODABI – From San Francisco, CA – She is a Three-time Blues Music Award Nominee. It has been proclaimed that Ms. Odabi is nothing short of West Coast Royalty.  It has been written that Ms. Odabi is “easily the most dynamic blues and soul woman to have emerged from the Bay Area since Etta James came out of San Francisco’s Fillmore District in the 50’s.”

ANNIKA CHAMBERS-DESLAURIERS – From Houston, TX (now FL) - 2019 Blues Music Award Winner in the “Soul Blues Female Artist” category. She has three other BMA nominations, including two for the prestigious “Koko Taylor Award”. Her second album, Wild & Free, debuted at #7 on the Billboard Blues Album Chart.

PAUL DESLAURIERS – From Montreal, Canada (now FL) – His band was 2nd Place in the 2016 International Blues Challenge. They have been named “Electric Act Of The Year” & Two-Time “Entertainer Of The Year” at The Maple Blues Awards (Canada’s Grammys).

JP SOARS – From Boca Raton (since 1999, originally Arkansas) – Band Winner of the 2009 International Blues Challenge. JP was nominated in 2021 for a Blues Music Award in the “Contemporary Blues Male Artist” category. He has released six albums and plays many different genres of music.

This group is coming to Spring Hill direct from The Bonita Blues Festival to share their love of blues, soul and rock for an afternoon you will be telling your friends about afterward.

John Primer grew up on Mississippi sharecropper land in 1945, inspired by his family’s hard work and field songs daily, deep devotion to spirituals on Sundays, and blues on Saturdays!

He moved to Chicago in 1963 and found work immediately.

He worked with the legendary Sammy Lawhorn and Junior Wells at Theresa's Lounge. He worked hard and impressed Willie Dixon enough to go on tour with him and his Chicago Blues All-Stars Band.

In 1981 he got to play with his idol, Muddy Waters! Muddy called for him to lead his band. After Muddy’s untimely death (1983), he joined up with Magic Slim & The Teardrops for the next 14 years, traveling all over the world.

He has been recorded more than 87 albums with 17 albums in his own name. He has written and produced more than 55 songs on more than 6 record labels.

Earning 2 Grammy Award nominations, given 2 Lifetime Achievement Awards, inducted into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame, awarded the "Muddy Award" for being a traditional blues icon, winning a Blues Music Award, Blues Blast Awards and countless other awards, John Primer is a legendary Chicago Blues Icon!

Other than his appearance at the Springing The Blues Festival, this is John’s only Florida Appearance scheduled for 2022.
